The Story Behind Dhiva

How witnessing education inequality during COVID-19 sparked a mission to democratize learning for millions

It Started with a Simple Observation

During the COVID-19 pandemic, as millions of migrant workers returned from cities to villages across India, I witnessed a harsh reality that would reshape my perspective on education forever.

"These families move several times a year, disrupting their children's education repeatedly. Yet almost every family had at least one smartphone. The technology was there — but the right solution wasn't."

I realized that if a platform like Dhiva had existed then, it could have:

  • Continued education for children regardless of location changes
  • Delivered crucial health knowledge to women and families in their own language
  • Provided vocational training through voice, overcoming literacy barriers
  • Created opportunities for upskilling using just WhatsApp

This wasn't just an India problem — it's a global challenge affecting billions from rural India to Africa and everywhere in between. That's when Dhiva was born: to create true tech impact at the grassroots level.

Our Mission

To democratize education by making quality learning accessible to everyone, everywhere — regardless of literacy level, language, location, or device.

We believe learning should adapt to people, not the other way around. Through AI that truly understands how individuals learn, we're building a future where education finds you wherever you are.

Our Vision

By 2030, we envision Dhiva empowering 10 million learners across the globe — from tier-3 Indian villages to rural Africa — all learning in their own language, at their own pace.

We see a world where a farmer in Bihar can master modern techniques via voice notes, where a young mother in Kenya learns healthcare through WhatsApp, and where education is truly a universal right, not a privilege.

Why Dhiva Exists

🌍 2.7 Billion People Are Being Left Behind

Traditional education assumes literacy, stable internet, and expensive devices. But billions of people — especially women and rural populations — need education that works with basic phones, limited connectivity, and voice-first interaction.

📱 The Technology Already Exists

WhatsApp reaches 2.5 billion users. AI can now understand and generate content in multiple languages. Voice technology works on 2G networks. The pieces exist — they just haven't been connected the right way. Until now.

🎯 One-Size-Fits-All Education Doesn't Work

Every learner is unique — different pace, different style, different context. Dhiva's AI doesn't just deliver content; it learns how each person learns and adapts in real-time, creating truly personalized education at scale.

The Builder Behind Dhiva

Vishal Sharma

Founder & Chief Learning Architect

As Chief Learning Architect, I design how millions will learn — not just what they learn, but how the platform adapts to each person's unique learning journey.

With 18 years of experience in strategic marketing and digital transformation across APAC, I've led 150+ member teams and guided brands across pharmaceuticals, government, technology, and education sectors.

As a serial entrepreneur, I've founded Arkreach (AI-first media analytics), co-founded Start Solo (solopreneur incubator), and Start Solo Studio (AI content studio). My work with government initiatives like Digital India, Skill India, and various state investment summits gave me deep insights into India's education challenges.

But Dhiva is different. It's not just another venture — it's a mission. Every line of code, every feature, every decision is driven by one question: "Will this help someone learn better?"

"This is a solo venture — from code to content, design to deployment. Because when you're building something to change millions of lives, every detail matters, and you need to own every decision."

Our Core Values

🌟

No Learner Left Behind

If someone wants to learn, nothing should stop them — not literacy, not language, not location, not device limitations.

🎯

Simplicity First

If it needs a manual, we've failed. If grandma can't use it, we need to simplify it. Complexity is the enemy of adoption.

🚀

Impact Over Profit

Every decision is measured by impact first, revenue second. We're building a movement, not just a business.
